FIVESTAR COMIC CON

cosplay is not consent POLICY

At FiveStarCon, we believe everyone deserves a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience—whether you're in costume or not.

We celebrate creativity and cosplay, but it’s important to remember:

Cosplay is NOT Consent.

Just because someone is wearing a costume—no matter how revealing, detailed, or impressive—does not give anyone permission to:

  • Touch them

  • Harass them

  • Take photos without permission

  • Make inappropriate comments

  • Violate their personal space

Respectful Behavior Guidelines

  • Always ask first before taking photos or videos of someone in costume.

  • Keep your hands to yourself. Never touch a cosplayer, their costume, or props without clear consent.

  • Compliment respectfully. Flirting, lewd comments, or crude jokes are not welcome.

  • No means no. If someone asks you to stop, do so immediately and respectfully.

Harassment Will Not Be Tolerated

Harassment of any kind—verbal, physical, visual, or digital—will be dealt with seriously and swiftly. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Stalking or following someone

  • Intimidation

  • Inappropriate physical contact

  • Unwanted sexual attention

  • Taking photos/video after being asked not to

Reporting Harassment

If you feel harassed or see something inappropriate:

  • Find a staff member or security officer immediately.

  • Visit the Info/Help Desk

  • Reports can be made anonymously and will be taken seriously.

All staff are trained to respond with discretion and respect. Your safety is our priority.

Consequences

FiveStar Comic Con reserves the right to:

  • Remove any individual from the event without refund

  • Contact law enforcement if necessary

  • Ban individuals from future events
